American was the latest in raising their checked bag fees.
"Most major air carriers started adding checked-bag fees in 2008. The airlines reported collecting nearly $740 million in baggage fees in the third quarter of 2009, according to U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics." CNN
Now wait a minute, have they offered any more in service?
Did we not as tax payers bail them out after 9/11? That was just a horrible excuse for years of mismanagement.

Perfect timing, boy the major airlines really are thinking about US!
Spend your money flying, if you can, on those carries that do not charge for your first checked bag...Southwest and JetBlue! I know I am, and my travels are going to be in the US.
Do you know how many National Forests, Monuments, etc. we have in the US? Google it!
